About The Library
The Grimes Public Library has proudly served the community since June 15, 1972, when the Grimes City Council passed an ordinance establishing the public library.
Our History

- 1972–1994: Located at 213 South Main Street
- 1994–2024: Located at 200 North James Street
- 2024–Present: Located at 200 NE Beaverbrooke Boulevard
On January 30, 2024, the library opened its new state-of-the-art facility, providing expanded spaces, resources, and services for the growing Grimes community.

Our Vision
The Grimes Public Library will enrich lives through knowledge and information. We will be a gateway to learning and information for all ages, by offering a wide spectrum of services,
materials, and programming to enhance the quality of life in our community.
Collections and Materials
The library offers a diverse collection for all ages, including:
- Books for adults, teens, and children
- Audiobooks
- Magazines
- DVDs and Blu-ray movies
- Video games
- American Girl Dolls
- Literacy and STEAM kits (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics)
- Daily and weekly newspapers
Library Spaces and Technology
Visitors can enjoy:
- Free Wi-Fi throughout the building
- Public computers with internet access
- Printing, copying, faxing, and scanning services (cost associated)
- Two large meeting rooms that can be divided into four conference rooms
- Five study rooms (one children’s study room and four adult study rooms)
- Nintendo Switch consoles for in-library use

The library offers daily, weekly, and monthly programs for all ages, along with:

- Readers’ advisory services
