Tuesday, February 2nd: Cross-stitching

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Written instructions (with picture)
  • Video Tutorials
  • Creativebug: this online service provides video tutorials that walk you step-by-step through a multitude of different crafts and hobbies.  All you need to do is create an account with your library card number to get started.  Once you create the account, simply type cross stitch into the search box and pick from a number of different video tutorials!

Patterns – your kit includes a free pattern but you can find additional ideas at these following websites:

Weaving Techniques:

  • Written instructions (with pictures)
  • Video Tutorials
  • Creativebug: The weaving for beginners class not only teaches you weaving basics, but it also shows you how to create your own loom with a wooden frame!

DIY Looms: These DIY Looms are a great alternative to the expensive looms you can find online.  The greatest part is that they can be made from supplies you already have around your house!  Use an old frame or cardboard.

Join us virtually this week as we learn how to hand knit. Ages 11 to adult.

Tuesday, February 23rd: Wood-working 

Join us virtually this week as we learn the basics of woodcarvingAges 16 to adult.

You will need your own pocket knife.

Starting on September 9th, homework help will be offered on Wednesdays, from 5-7 pm.  This free tutoring service is offered Wednesdays from 5-7pm via Zoom or phone! Registration is required.  Call the Library for additional information.

This week we have provided you with a blank puzzle so you can create your own design! This is a simple and great way for you to be as creative as you want! You can write a message, create a design or color some abstract art. Create and color your design while your puzzle is put together, then take it all apart and see if you can reassemble it!
